Harbour Shores Named Silver Winner at the BETTER FUTURE World Design Awards 2026
13 March 2026
Harbour Shores has been recognised on the world stage, taking home a Silver Award at the 2026 BETTER FUTURE World Design Awards in the category of NEXT Futures: Environmental Sustainability.

Presented by the globally respected Better Future Awards program, the World Design Awards celebrate design excellence across architecture, urban planning, and sustainability from projects around the globe. To be recognised in the Environmental Sustainability category is a testament to the depth of thinking and the rigour of execution that has defined Harbour Shores from the very beginning.
This latest honour builds on a strong run of recognition for the development, including a Gold win at the 2025 Better Future Sydney Design Awards and a Silver at the 2026 Better Future Australian Design Awards, both in the Environmental Sustainability category. Together, these accolades affirm Harbour Shores’ standing as a nationally and globally recognised benchmark for sustainable community design.
Fossil-Free by Design
Harbour Shores was conceived as a fossil-free masterplanned community, a standard that goes far beyond conventional green building practice. From its inception, developer Lewis Land Group set out to demonstrate that sustainable living and design excellence are not competing priorities, but deeply complementary ones.
The development integrates renewable energy infrastructure, biodiversity-positive landscaping, and community-centred urban design across its Biggera Waters waterfront site on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The result is a living environment that supports ecological health, reduces residents’ environmental impact, and reimagines what it means to live well.
